DIY braided hex nut bracelet

So take 3 strands of twine (or anything else with which you will work) and tie a knot at the top.

Braid it a little and then you’ll begin braiding in the nuts like this:

Keep your thumb at the base of the braid, holding the nut in its place.

Repeat the steps, by threading the rest of the nuts to the outer pieces of twine before they are crossed over. Thread, cross, thread, cross. Finish the bracelet with another inch of braided twine and a knot.

It looks great combined with other bracelets :)

5 strand braided headband

So today I made 5 strand braided headbands and bracelet.

This is how it goes. Cut your fabric into 5 long strips and sew them together like this:

Attach them on something and follow this:
-
split up the strips into 3 on the left side and 2 strips on the right
-grab the first strip on the left and cross it over the strip right next to it on the right. Then grab the strip furthest to the right of left section and cross it over one strip to the left. Now grab the middle of all 5 strips and bring it over the the right side so that you can start braiding on the right side. Now, you’re going to do the same thing on the right side just mirrored from what we did the first time. Grab the strip all the way on the right and cross it over the strip right next to it on the left. Then grab the strip furthest to the left of this section and cross it over one strip to the right.

Now grab the middle of all 5 strips and bring it over the the left side so that you can start braiding on the left side again.
Start again from the very beginning and work on the left side again and then on the right side again.

Braid until the desired length..

..and then it should look like this:

When you're done sew the ends together like this:

Cut a rectangular piece of fabric that’s wider than the ends that you’ll need to cover.

And then stitch one end on the inside of the headband..

Then wrap this piece of fabric around the headband, and then stitch this end down too.

After you're done with headband it's time for flower. Cut out circles of different sizes from the fabric you want. Take one circle for base and do this:

Fold circles in 1/4 and glue the on base like this:

..at the end it should look like this:

After the flower is done glue it on the headband.

And here it is, your new headband :)
